![]() Thank you to everyone that has helped me along this crazy journey and to those that continue to inspire me. I might not always practice what I preach, but I sure as hell try to every day. If you can master this then you'll be able to overcome anything that life throws your way. Youre not alone, you have people in your life, and even people you didnt see coming, who are more than willing to reach out and be there for you. Lastly, learn to find a positive light in the darkest of times. Don't take a single second of your life for granted, pay close attention and LISTEN. Let me tell you something! If you're healthy and have a good head on your shoulders then you've already won the biggest lottery ever! Lao Tzu once said, "The journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step". People often wonder what it's like to win the lottery. Seven years later and I'm in the best shape of my life, back in the gym, enjoying cars again, traveling the world and generally doing what ever it is I want. I have had the opportunity to meet some very remarkable people that on a daily basis inspire me and drive me to be more successful, not just professionally but personally. This journey has taught me more in seven years than most people learn in a lifetime. It's truly a blessing that I had my family, my closest friends, and god around me, to help motivate me through the toughest and scariest time of my life. There's never a day that I don't remember the ridiculous amount of work and energy it took to relearn how to walk and function normally again. It took nearly FOUR YEARS to go from quadriplegic to somewhat back to normal. It took a split second to take that poorly calculated dive that paralyzed me from the neck down. August 10th, 2009 was the day I took the dive that would forever change my life. Seven years seems like it has flown by in a matter of several months. Whether or not you'll be able to overcome the certain situation comes down to how you react to it. Even when life seems impossible, the brilliant light inside yourself is enough to see your way through your own darkest nights. Life is fragile, it's full of very interesting surprises and challenges. My experience has taught me that the human capacity to endureand to do it with grace, courage, and joydoes not really depend on anything outside of ourselves.
